Over the past year, I have been involved in an art project, Rainscape, with my friend Debbie Fish. The idea behind Rainscape was to create an interactive and immersive environment for people to manipulate and alter, but become aware that they could never fully have control over it – much like the weather.
The piece was recently installed in the 2015 Performance Arcade along the Wellington water front. Running for just over 4 days, the Performance Arcade is a conglomerate of performance based, live art works. Some testing the artist endurance, while others, their patience. But all resided within shipping containers. I liked the use of something very structurally sound to host and bring together many different art works, some more suited to the container space than others, but each delivered something different to the audience.
